How do you account for the popularity of The Deanna Jones Orchestra?

"Our goal at DJO is to hit a homerun every time. We strive to give 110 percent at each and every event, period. Having this attitude, we find that people who want a consistently outstanding orchestra, call us. Due to this philosophy we've been fortunate enough to have worked with celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas along with other great parties with celebrity guests/clients."

What is your philosophy on band leading?

"Finesse is a key word. I always want the party to be elegant but very fun and hip. I've put together a group of musicians who are spontaneous, upbeat and positive. I also believe my band has its own intangible essence. I think we always add a flair of sophistication and energy that truly enhances each party. I am acutely aware of the fact that our goal at these events is to create a lasting memory in the minds of our clients and their guests. I want to ensure that our performances far exceed the expectation of our clients. That memory should be extremely positive."

How does being a female bandleader differentiate you from the mostly male bandleaders?

"I enjoy the camaraderie and spirit of the other women, party planners, florists etc in this business. It is a pleasure working with other strong women in an industry that has been historically dominated by men. Specifically, it is still a rare sight seeing a female bandleader. I think a successful bandleader needs to be very intuitive and have a connection with their clients, and I believe my ability to connect with my clients in that way differentiates me from the other bandleaders. I also think that the brides nowadays are very savvy and appreciate working with someone who will listen and be sensitive to their input while still offering their opinion when needed."
